Food Safety Requirements
Food service at these businesses is regulated by DBPR, Division of Hotels and Restaurants:
- Restaurant (full service, quick service, carry-out, etc.)
- Hotel or Motel food service (full service, self service, continental)
- Bed & Breakfast
- Country Club, Yacht Club, Marina
- Caterer, Banquet Hall
- Food Court or Food Kiosk
- Mobile Food Vendor (lunch truck, hot dog cart)
- Temporary Food Vendor (fairs, festivals etc)
- “Make your own meals” shop
Visit the Department of Health website for regulation if you are:
- Civic or fraternal organizations
- Churches that are required to maintain a Department of Health food certificate (prepare food for public non-member consumption)
- Mobile Food Units and Caterers that are required to maintain a Department of Health food certificate
- Detention facilities
- School/University
- Childcare Facilities
- Bars/Lounges
- Residential Facilities that are required to maintain a Department of Health food certificate, such as, but not limited to:
- Assisted Living Facilities
- Hospices
- Adult Day Cares
- Drug and alcohol treatment centers
- Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally disabled (ICFDD)
