Food service at these businesses is regulated by DBPR, Division of Hotels and Restaurants:

  • Restaurant (full service, quick service, carry-out, etc.)
  • Hotel or Motel food service (full service, self service, continental)
  • Bed & Breakfast
  • Country Club, Yacht Club, Marina
  • Caterer, Banquet Hall
  • Food Court or Food Kiosk
  • Mobile Food Vendor (lunch truck, hot dog cart)
  • Temporary Food Vendor (fairs, festivals etc)
  • “Make your own meals” shop

Department of Health

Visit the Department of Health website for regulation if you are:

  1. Civic or fraternal organizations
  2. Churches that are required to maintain a Department of Health food certificate (prepare food for public non-member consumption)
  3. Mobile Food Units and Caterers that are required to maintain a Department of Health food certificate
  4. Detention facilities
  5. School/University
  6. Childcare Facilities
  7. Bars/Lounges
  8. Residential Facilities that are required to maintain a Department of Health food certificate, such as, but not limited to:
    1. Assisted Living Facilities
    2. Hospices
    3. Adult Day Cares
    4. Drug and alcohol treatment centers
    5. Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally disabled (ICFDD)
